overview
Each country, including Indonesia, has its requirements and regulations for international tourists to enter the country. These requirements, especially with the ending Covid-19 pandemic, are regularly updated. Every traveler must always find out the current and applicable restrictions or requirements before traveling and prepare themselves to comply with these requirements when entering a foreign country and avoid possible non-admission. In this Guide, you will find everything you need to enter Bali (Indonesia) and get into the country without complications and surprises.
⚠️ We only bring you information verified and officially issued by the relevant Indonesian authorities.⚠️
This Guide is divided into the following sections:
RegulationS & requirements
Currently, you need to enter Bali (Indonesia):
Valid Visa
-
Please refer to the Visa Guide for complete information on the types of visas and how to obtain them, including their prices.
Vaccination Against Yellow Fever in Special Cases
-
For more info on mandatory and recommended vaccinations, see the Vaccination Guide.
Valid Passport
-
The validity must be at least another six months after entry into Indonesia
-
Must have at least one free page for visas inscribing
Return Ticket or Ticket Out of Indonesia
-
Must be within the validity period of your visa
-
For example, if you have a 1-month visa, the ticket must be within that month, even if the last day of your stay is sufficient
⚠️ Warning: Indonesia requires to have a real ticket purchased. It is possible that just booking it at departure will be sufficient for the airport staff, but it is up to the individual staff member to judge. We know of cases where a reservation has been enough, but we have also had personal experience of not being allowed to board a plane until an actual ticket was purchased and paid for.
💡 Tip: If you are planning to stay in Indonesia beyond your visa, for example, you are planning to purchase another visa with longer validity on the spot, and you are planning your return ticket not to be used, you can buy a ticket from Medan, Indonesia (KNO airport) to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (KUL airport). This is usually Indonesia's shortest and cheapest outbound connection (about USD 35).
