Banyu Pinaruh
The Banyu Pinaruh ceremony is on the day following Saraswati day. Banyu means water, and Pinaruh implies wisdom. So, people should have knowledge that is still flowing like water and is helpful for humanity. During this day, believers pray to Dewi Saraswati (manifestation of God) to gain wisdom and sagacity.
💡Interesting fact: Banyu Pinaruh is also the first day (new year) of the new cycle of the Pawukon calendar.
This ceremony includes bathing in the sea, river, or lake and drinking traditional medicine prepared from several herbs that positively affect human health.
The Banyu Pinaruh philosophy of the day is that good health is the second most important thing in a person's life.
Banyu Pinaruh is celebrated once every 210 days (1 year according to the Balinese calendar Pawukon).
