Kuningan
Kuningan is the last tenth day of the Galungan festival. It is the day when the spirits of the deceased descended to Earth to see their survivors fly back from the island. Yellow rice (Nasi Kuning) is prepared for the offerings, where kuning means yellow, hence the name of this day. Yellow rice symbolizes prosperity and gratitude to the all-powerful god Sang Hyang Widhi Wasa, who descended to Earth on this day to bless all people.
On this day, the Mekotek ritual is traditionally held in the village of Munggu.
Kuningan is celebrated once every 210 days (1 year according to the Balinese calendar Pawukon).
