about

Sabuh Mas

The Sabuh Mas ceremony is on the third day after Saraswati day. Sabuh means belt, Mas means gold.

On this day, offerings are brought to jewelry boxes or wherever jewelry is stored. During the ceremony, people are reminded to think carefully about what they spend their money on. Thank god Mahadewa for clothes, money, and gold.

The philosophy behind Sabuh Mas is that the fourth most important thing in a person's life is clothing, and gold.

Sabuh Mas is celebrated once every 210 days (1 year according to the Balinese calendar Pawukon).
