about

Ubud Village Jazz Festival

The Ubud Village Jazz Festival is a vibrant music event held in the enchanting setting of Ubud, Bali, Indonesia. This annual international jazz festival has been taking place since 2013 and is the result of collaborative efforts by Yuri Mahatma, a talented musician, composer, and music teacher, and Anom Darsana, the director and owner of ANTIDA Music Productions. Together, they have been organizing jazz concerts with diverse themes under the banner of the Underground Jazz Movement.

The concept of a community concert took shape in the early part of 2012, driven by the enthusiastic participation and support of various artist communities. The idea was to host a unique concert experience in this picturesque village.

One of the significant missions of the festival is to promote new talents and nurture music students through an initiative called Edu-Mission. Additionally, UVJF facilitates workshops for local and national music educators, aiming to inspire and engage more young people in the world of Jazz.

Financed through sponsorships, advertising, pitch-fees from traders, tickets, booths, and merchandise sales, UVJF is powered by the collective efforts of communities. Notably, the festival heavily relies on the dedication of a small group of volunteers who invest nearly 1,000 man-hours to ensure its success. Their hard work and commitment bring joy to both Ubud residents and visitors, contributing to the local economy and establishing UVJF as one of the most delightful events on the calendar.

Regardless of age, ability, creed, or wealth, UVJF manages to put smiles on the faces of 5,000 people who come together to celebrate the love for jazz in the artistic heart of Ubud.
